Study program overview

You will learn: • Securing computer systems • Monitoring the security of computer systems • Securing databases • Detecting violations of legal provisions concerning traffic in ICT networks • Building a secure IT infrastructure. It is worth noting, that security of computer systems is now a priority for every enterprise. As a student of the Security & Continuity of IT specialization, you will enrich your skills related to ICT security. Additionally, you will meet interesting people from the IT industry - and perhaps your future employer - thanks to numerous study visits and meetings with practitioners, that we organize regularly during the period of studies. You will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice thanks to individual and group projects, workshops, trainings and hackathons, and the cooperation of the WSB University with industry-renowned companies such as Fujitsu, IBM, AWS or Microsoft will enable you to learn the latest trends in the IT area. At the WSB University, we know how important technical skills combined with soft skills are today. We educate graduates who are ready to take on challenges and are not afraid of them. Therefore, in addition to the subjects that shape typical engineering skills, we also took care of equipping graduates with competences that allow them to find themselves in the increasingly demanding labor market. Thanks to Design Thinking or Problem Based Learning workshops, you will learn to solve problems creatively, and classes related to the implementation of IT projects will prepare you for the real challenges faced by engineers working mainly in design. And if you want, you have the opportunity of development in the F44 Red scientific circle, which is very successful in international competitions concerning among others cybersecurity.

Program curriculum:
Content within specialization: database security, standardization of security systems according to ISO 27001, security and operation continuity of computer systems, monitoring of computer systems security, implementation and analysis of IT systems with a high degree of availability, SIEM systems, security of computer networks (CCNA Security). Selected basic content: mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, basics of computer science, algorithms and data structures. Selected faculty content: databases, software engineering, artificial intelligence methods, operating systems, computer networks. Our study program is regularly consulted with representatives of the business environment - including employers of the largest companies in the IT industry, so you can be sure that after graduating in IT, you will gain knowledge, skills and competences that are a guarantee of success on the labor market. We also regularly ask students of last semesters and our graduates what they particularly liked and disliked about the study program. Through such actions, we not only adjust the didactic offer to the needs of our students, but also give them a real influence on participation in shaping the program. These activities bring tangible results, as the engineering study program for the Computer Science has received the prestigious accreditation of the Accreditation Committee of Technical Universities (KAUT), and the EUR-ACE Label - an international quality certificate awarded to engineering programs. We are the second private university in the country that managed to obtain KAUT and EUR-ACE certificates for the engineering faculty. We received the accreditation for the longest possible period, i.e. 5 years (until February 2026) - which confirms that studying Computer Science at the WSB University is the best possible choice.
